The story:
I made Objects in a Room during my graduation at the art academy. At the time, I kept running into the same images in magazines, advertisements and on social media: women’s bodies shown to sell something or to seduce. That constant repetition irritated me, and the irritation became the starting point of this series. I wanted to show the female nude through a female gaze: one that observes rather than invites, and that gives the body quiet presence instead of a role to play. By placing figures half hidden in and behind furniture, I let them become part of the room, on their own terms and not for the viewer’s pleasure.
